Getting Started
It takes courage to reach out. Whether you are certain you want to begin therapy or are wavering at the idea, know that getting started is usually the hardest part.
Therapy provides a unique space to give time and attention to the deeper, formative stories of one's life, to make connections to how those stories are being repeated in present life and to imagine new ways of moving forward.
Counseling is a collaborative process where we work together to address your needs, while also identifying strengths. Our first session will involve discussion about what brings you to therapy. After this time I will be able to offer you some first impressions of what our work will include. If you decide to continue with therapy, I typically schedule one session per week at a time we agree on.
Connect here and let me know a little about what you are looking for.
Communication
Due to the nature of my work, I am not immediately available by telephone. My telephone is answered by confidential voicemail. If you find yourself in an urgent situation, make a judgement about the prudence of waiting for my call versus calling your primary care physician, 911, or the Anchorage crisis line at (907) 563-3200.
