If we really want to live a joyful, connected and meaningful life, we must talk about things that get in the way
— Brené Brown

Hello. I'm Mandy Casurella.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Approved Supervisor in Anchorage, Alaska. I offer individual psychotherapy for adults and supervision/consultation for therapists. Since 2004 I have enjoyed working in a wide range of settings from psychiatric emergency rooms to remote Madagascar. I love my work and consider it a privilege to come alongside anyone looking to grow, heal, recover or live more fully into personal and relational well-being.

My practice is informed by current research that shows a relational approach and context is the best predictor of successful outcomes in therapy. I hold to the deep belief that we are formed in relationship, harmed in relationship, healed in relationship and transformed in relationship.

My training is rooted in relational, depth-oriented psychotherapies, attachment theory and neuroscience. I use a compassionate and integrative approach in therapy. I also work as a trainer for the Relationally Focused Psychodynamic Therapy post-graduate certificate program and am committed to ongoing education and case consultation.

I earned a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology and a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University.
